'Can't find the name of Intel ICD OpenGL driver' Error

After closing the window a handful of times, the error message will stop appearing, and Maple/MapleSim will start like normal.  However, the problem is related to the installation of the watcom compiler, which is indicated by the

Error copying file from packed archive... to C:/ProgramData/watcom-1.3/binw/sc.exe

message during installation.  The watcom compiler is only installed in 32-bit Maple, so you will only see this error if you attempt to start 32-bit Maple (or MapleSim).

If you are running a 64-bit Windows operating system, but do not wish to use 64-bit Maple instead, you need to look into your Intel graphics driver. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Update (or roll-back) your graphics drivers. It is recommended that you get the drivers directly from Intel, as opposed to automatic updates through your operating system.

  • Ensure your operating system is up-to-date.
